The Flow World Tour spotlights Flow developers building for the future of Web3 and consumer activation. After introducing hundreds of new builders to Flow in Singapore, The World Tour arrived at ETHGlobal in San Francisco with a special focus on Sports IP and Composability.

ETHGlobal San Francisco Highlights

• 1 in every 5 hackers chose to build on Flow, making it the most developed on L1 network at the event
• Over 50 new apps were created on Flow
• Over a hundred new builders joined the Flow ecosystem
• Flow project PumpRoyale won the overall hackathon

Judges were given the difficult task of selecting winners from hundreds of entrants in two categories:

Most Killer App Potential on Flow

At ETHGlobal San Francisco, these projects were recognized for having the Most Killer App Potential.

hoshi — 1st place

hoshi is a social media platform that uses NFTs to show proof of ownership over IP rights and enable an automated royalty distribution system based on enforceable fair use. This gives content creators license to create original content or remix new content from several sources, while hoshi ensures original creators get a fair cut.

Roblox Coin Exchange — 2nd place

Roblox Coin Exchange is built to expose the game’s 300 million monthly active users to the world of meme tokens. The trading system of the app involves a bonding curve to determine the price of deployed coins. A Multi-Party Computation wallet for each user manages tokens and transactions, and syncs with Roblox gameplay.

‍Super Tweets —  3rd place

Super Tweets enables users to mint NFTs, place bets, make listings, or collect tips in familiar environments, like a Twitter feed. This approach to Web3 reduces friction users encounter when engaging with decentralized apps, which often suffer from steep learning curves.

‍Keyless — tied for 4th place

Keyless lets users give simple commands to an AI assistant that then formulates a strategy and executes it onchain. The app uses various specialized agents trained in different aspects of blockchain operations that collaborate, coordinate, and execute once the plain text commands of the user have been interpreted. The protocol allows for simple requests like, “Send $100 to Bob,” or “Invest $100 in DeFi tokens” to be carried out onchain, vastly reducing the barrier to entry for newcomers to Web3.

Avazon — tied for 4th place

Avazon introduces AI to users through customizable avatars that allow fine-tuning of details like gender, voice, style, personality, and appearance. These avatars can generate social media content such as music, videos, and art, and serve as real-time assistants for tasks like web browsing, shopping, and language learning. Users can create original avatars or mix traits from popular IPs on the platform so that widely known characters take on a personalized spin.

Best Sports Apps on Flow

The abundance of high-quality submissions led to a four-way tie for the Best Sports App on Flow.

FanFuel allows fans of student-athletes to step up and provide support by staking crypto. The supporter may withdraw a stake at any time, and while a stake remains active, a majority of the staking rewards are sent to the athlete. Directly involving the fans in the financial success of athletes fosters long-term connections and enhances the way fans engage with sports with activities that directly and positively drive outcomes for their community of fandom and favorite teams.

‍PumpRoyale pits competitors who stake into fitness challenges against one another. Once prompted, participants must complete fitness-related challenges within 10 minutes, and verify results in the application. Those who fail to complete challenges forfeit their stakes to a losers pool that is distributed amongst a randomly selected group of winners who completed the challenge. With more users, prize pools grow, inspiring healthy rivalry with rewards for those who compete to stay fit with luck on their side.

ETHGambit takes the delays, large fees, and guesswork out of chess wagers, to bring decentralized betting to 110 million under-served chess players. The application allows players to agree on bets, and enter their wagers into escrow. Using a lichess.org API the app then determines the outcome of the game wagered on, delivering winnings to whichever wallet made the right prediction, or refunding both wallets in the case of a draw.

NBA Momentum highlights composability with NBA Top Shot by turning a user’s collection of moments into a playable deck of trading cards, where player stats determine gameplay outcomes. Players compete to reach 21 points, using combinations of Player Moments, Hype, Playbook, Equipment, and Arena cards to build their strategy and win.
