At the Flow Foundation, we’re committed to building a robust, sustainable, and transparent ecosystem. We believe that Crescendo will be a major unlock for all of the web3 community. Crescendo includes the launch of Cadence 1.0 and EVM on Flow. Cadence 1.0 marks a significant milestone in the language's development, introducing a comprehensive suite of improvements to enhance speed, security, and efficiency. EVM on flow begins a hallmark era of interoperability between Flow and the Ethereum ecosystem. Below are our latest updates on the roadmap to Crescendo.

Updated Testnet Timeline

First, we want to give an update on the Cadence 1.0 migration and the Testnet network upgrade timeline. We’re proud to share that over 50% of active contracts on Testnet have been successfully upgraded to Cadence 1.0.

This is a significant milestone, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our developers and community members. As we approach the Testnet Network upgrade, the Foundation and the Flow community recognized a smart contract, FiatToken, that is not upgraded to Cadence 1.0. FiatToken is a critical dependency impacting hundreds of contracts.

To ensure it’s ready for both Testnet and Mainnet, we need to delay our Testnet network upgrade. We are working closely with the team to get this contract updated, and as soon as we have a firm roadmap and timeline, we will share it with the entire ecosystem. Staging Available on Mainnet

Second, staging on Mainnet is now available. This is a huge opportunity for developers to prepare their Cadence 1.0 smart contracts and stage them on Flow’s Mainnet. We’ve collaborated with our friends at Flipside to build a dashboard where you can track the progress and see how staging on Mainnet is going.
