Flow Reaches Consumers with a World Tour, Rewards, and Crescendo

Flow empowers developers to push the boundaries of digital consumer experiences. With the latest update to the network (Crescendo) now live, Flow is ready to launch the next killer app. Here’s why:

  • Crescendo, the biggest upgrade to Flow since the launch of the network, makes all Flow applications fully interoperable with the wider web3 ecosystem, catalyzing a new wave of users, liquidity, and apps.
  • Flow Community Rewards combines onchain and real-world rewards to onboard, engage, and grow users on any Flow app. A solution to sustainable distribution, Rewards can enhance any application on Flow.
  • The Flow World Tour brings the best developers from around the world together to create the next killer app on Flow. From now until the end of the year, there will be hackathons in Singapore, San Francisco, and Thailand, and Flow events in Korea and New York City.
  • Flow will boast industry-leading developer tools from Alchemy, Privy, Axelar, Pyth, SimpleHash, QuickNode, Relay, Moralis, deBridge, Banxa, CoinMetrics, SEDA (plus many more) and top-tier DeFi primitives from teams like Ankr, IncrementFi, MORE Protocol, Izumi (Trado), Flowty, and many more.
  • Flow is bringing the best partners and intellectual property onto the network for you to play and build with. This includes the NBA, NFL, Ticketmaster/Live Nation, Mattel, Disney, FanCraze, Cryptoys, Animoca, CryptoKitties, Floor, Blockasset, Buildtree, Carmoditti, 24 Karat, Mintify, Arena Boyz, DevDock, The Fabricant, Gigantik (among others), plus a whole host of Telegram apps, NFT and RWA platforms, and more.

Community Rewards Create Killer Apps

With Community Rewards, users earn points by using Flow apps, then redeem points for digital and real-world rewards like assets, experiences, and more. For web3 developers, Flow Community Rewards solve one of the most challenging aspects of building a product: sustainable distribution.

The goal of Community Rewards is to ensure that every interaction within the Flow ecosystem is meaningful and rewarding. It isn’t about incentivizing initial engagements, it’s about converting curious users into dedicated community members by rewarding them for their contributions. For example, developers can use Community Rewards to demonstrate how tokens can be used within applications.

Community Rewards is a major milestone toward realizing the vision of a decentralized "App Store" designed to accelerate consumer web3 adoption. This vision goes beyond a marketplace for decentralized apps; it is about creating a sustainable ecosystem where value creation is both user-driven and user-shared.

Developers can start building apps eligible for Season 1 of Flow Community Rewards by visiting developers.flow.com.

The preseason for Community Rewards is now live. Get details on the preseason here, and participate by going to rewards.flow.com.

The Flow Crescendo Upgrade Unlocks Web3

Deployed on Flow Mainnet on September 4th, 2024, the Crescendo upgrade removes barriers to entry for developers while enabling interoperability with the wider Web3 ecosystem.

With the latest upgrade to Flow, Web3 products and platforms will no longer have to compromise between great user experience and access to Ethereum's liquidity and infrastructure. Meanwhile, builders in the Ethereum ecosystem can easily deploy on Flow and begin supercharging their applications with Flow-native capabilities.

  • Full EVM equivalence and support for Solidity allows any smart contract or protocol that works on Ethereum mainnet or an EVM L2 to work out of the box on Flow. This means tooling and platforms like Metamask, Remix and Viem work on Flow.
  • Fully immutable smart contracts guarantee any Cadence code deployed today will work on all future versions of the Flow network—no manual updates required.

Designed to empower developers, Flow removes complexities to enable innovative and consumer-ready use cases that would not be possible elsewhere. Flow partners and developers are already upgrading their projects.

Build With The Best On Flow

To date, over 45-million people have used a product on Flow thanks to top-tier creators like Cryptoys and Dapper Labs (NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day, and Disney Pinnacle). Industry leaders such as Mattel (Barbie, Hot Wheels) and Ticketmaster/Live Nation trust Flow to power secure and seamless services to millions of users every day. Brands like NASCAR, UFC, and Animoca Brands are connecting consumers to the future on Flow.

As part of the Crescendo upgrade, Flow now boasts industry-leading developer tools from Alchemy, Privy, Axelar, Pyth, SimpleHash, QuickNode, Relay, Moralis, deBridge, Banxa, CoinMetrics, SEDA, and many more. Additionally, top-tier DeFi primitives are coming from teams like Ankr, IncrementFi, MORE Protocol, Izumi (Trado), Flowty, and others.

Flow partners are pushing the boundaries of digital consumer experiences. This includes major sports leagues like the NBA and NFL, entertainment giants such as Ticketmaster/Live Nation and Disney, beloved brands like Mattel, and innovative Web3 projects including FanCraze, Cryptoys, Animoca, CryptoKitties, Floor, Blockasset, Buildtree, Carmoditti, 24 Karat, Mintify, Arena Boyz, DevDock, The Fabricant, and Gigantik.
