Flow celebrates another #1 spot as the most built on L1 at ETHGlobal Taipei

Following standout appearances at ETHGlobal events from San Francisco to Bangkok, Flow made a powerful mark at ETHGlobal Taipei, showcasing why it’s quickly becoming the Layer 1 of choice for Developers. From an amazing sunset cruise to strong hackathon participation, Flow continued its mission: empowering developers to create real-world consumer applications that scale.

Setting Sail: The “Go WTF” Sunset Cruise

The Flow experience in Taipei kicked off in spectacular fashion with the “Go WTF” Sunset Cruise & Dinner, an official side event featured on the ETHGlobal schedule.

Set against the glowing skyline of Taipei, the cruise brought together a vibrant mix of builders, creators, and partners from across the Web3 ecosystem. With music, food, and conversation flowing, it was the best hackathon warm up.

Adding to the magic? A brand-new community made Flow song debuted live by the DJ—turning a night of networking into a memory that resonated across the ETHTaipei crowd.

Chain Reaction: Bringing Builders Together

Ahead of the hackathon, Flow co-hosted a developer meetup alongside Rootstock at a local coworking hub. The event offered a laid-back setting for hackers to meet, share ideas, and get inspired before the building began.

The Flow team explained why developers are choosing Flow for consumer-scale applications, highlighting its fast block times, sub-cent fees, seamless EVM equivalency, and the advanced features of the Cadence language.

Hackathon Highlights: Building What Matters

At the ETHGlobal Taipei Hackathon, Flow once again proved why it’s emerging as a builder favorite:

  • 25 new projects submitted on Flow
  • One product built on Flow won the entire ETH Global Hackathon.

The event highlighted Flow’s position as a top Layer 1 for hackathon participation and reinforced the growing interest from developers exploring new frontiers in Consumer DeFi, gaming, AI and beyond.

Teams showcased the potential of combining high performance with a great developer experience and community atmosphere, whether they were building with Solidity on Flow EVM or using Cadence to access advanced features.
