This is a guest post from the Anique team, launching Attack on Titan: Legacy
We are Anique, and we are excited to announce the release of our platform, Attack on Titan: Legacy, on Flow!
Attack on Titan: Legacy is a platform where collectors can own officially licensed NFTs (called Moments) of the most iconic scenes from Attack on Titan anime. There will be 3 rarity tiers (Common, Rare and Legendary) of Moments, and each Moment will come with a serial number that guarantees its uniqueness. Collectors will be able to get Moments by buying packs directly from the platform or by trading with other collectors on the Marketplace.
User registration for the Beta site is now open to US residents, so be sure to check us out at aotlegacy.com!
We also have plenty of other features in the works, and plan on opening our site in more regions. Further details about these updates will be announced on our socials and in our blog.
Our first drop is scheduled for May 9, 2022, and will feature a Legendary pack. The next pack drop is a Rare pack scheduled for May 12th, followed by a Common pack scheduled for May 15th. Create an account on our website (aotlegacy.com) and join the Waiting Room 30 minutes before the drop for your chance at getting these packs!
Our story started with a small group of friends and a healthy interest in Japanese anime/manga culture and blockchains. As fans of the two worlds, we realized that uniting them would be the perfect way to introduce novelty to both anime collectors and NFT collectors. To NFT collectors, officially licensed anime NFT projects are few and far between. To traditional anime collectors, NFTs would be a new concept because they are unlike any other existing collectible.
On virtue of being a digital collectible, NFTs can be delivered instantly to the hands (or smart devices) of fans all over the world. In addition, transactions on the blockchain can be traced back to the source and cannot be tampered with. This means we can determine if an NFT is a counterfeit simply by checking its source. Finally, the trackability also allows us to give back to the creator even in the secondary market.
So, in 2018, when our team saw that CryptoKitties was becoming more and more popular, we thought about bringing our idea to life by launching a project of our own. When we contacted the Dapper Labs team, we got an incredible amount of support and helpful advice about how to start an NFT project. We were both impressed and inspired by Dapper Labs. From our interactions, we could feel their dedication and their passion in helping creators start their journey into the world of NFTs and blockchains. In 2019, we founded Anique, and launched our first marketplace for NFTs, eventually collaborating with well-known anime titles including Attack on Titan, Steins;Gate and Ghost in the Shell.
In 2020, Dapper launched Flow, the environmentally-friendly Proof-of-Stake blockchain made for NFTs. This is one of the main reasons that we chose to go with Flow for our project. As NBA Top Shot and other projects were getting released on Flow, we could see how smoothly and easily people – regardless of their familiarity with blockchain – could buy NFTs. We already had a good impression of Dapper Labs from our previous interactions, so we firmly believed that Flow would continue to improve their features even more as time went on.
Years after our first encounter with CryptoKitties, we have gathered more team members, released our NFT marketplace in Japan, negotiated with IP owners, and of course tested and re-tested our platform. Now, we are proud to say that we are finally able to launch Attack on Titan: Legacy, our first platform built on Flow dedicated to collecting anime NFTs, and our biggest step yet in our journey toward the new ecosystem that we envision between fans and creators.
