Anchorage Police are investigating a fatal fall that happened at the Dena’ina Center Thursday night.
According to police, 59-year-old Theodore Meiner fell from the second floor escalator balcony, after apparently playing on the escalator rails at about 11:30 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses said there had been a party going at the center, and that Meiner had been drinking.
Published floor plans for the Denai’na Center indicate that the first floor ceilings are 30 feet high, so the victim fell from a height at least that great.
